Dave Berry was generous enough to take time out of his busy touring and recording schedule in 2021 to team up with Sawel Underground, a band often quoted as a ‘60s revival band’ and dubbed by ModsOfYourGeneration.com as the ‘modern British Invasion’.
Founder and frontman of the band, Tristan Hale, was star struck upon meeting one of his musical icons, Dave Berry, whilst training as a sound technician on a nation wide 60s tour.
As taken from an interview in Heavy Soul Records ‘Modzine’ Issue 58, Tristan explains: “… at first I was too nervous to introduce myself! Once I did, Dave realised I really knew his material after naming some obscure tracks that in his words, he had ‘forgotten’ about. He’s genuinely one of the nicest people to talk to and told me of many great stories about his adventures in the 60s. Before I knew it, I was stood next to one of his Golden framed records, recording one of my idols and a seneschal of early British R&B”.
